Ken Done and Sydney. A love story spanning 80 years. He is the city’s great chronicler, and she has been his most enduring muse.
For VIVID Sydney, Ken captured the joy of his beloved city in a unique animation projected onto the historic facade of Customs House, near the harbour at Circular Quay.
In collaboration with digital storytelling group Spinifex, and accompanied by a soundtrack composed by Ken's old friend and collaborator, James Morrison, it is a story of optimism, colour, and sheer delight. A celebration of Sydney, its icons and natural environment - on the foreshore and the harbour, under the sea, in the sky - as seen through the artist’s imagination ...
