Ken Done: Drawings 1981 - 2018 at The Ken Done Gallery featured never before seen original works on paper from the very beginnings of Ken's artistic career to the present day. Hand selected from Ken's private sketchbooks and studio this was a uniquely intimate collection of works showcased over the summer months at the Ken Done Gallery in The Rocks.

‘All artists draw and this exhibition, with works going back to the early eighties, I hope shows the themes that continue to interest me; the reef, travel and the act of drawing itself. Most of these works have never been seen before and I thought it’s about time they travelled from the drawers in the studio to the light of day in the gallery.’

The exhibition explored the development of Ken's practice through the years, and the varied and iconic subjects that he is best known for. Sydney Harbour is lovingly captured in monochromatic tones, minimalist reef drawings burst with colour and fresh energy and still life drawings hold intimate details and beauty.
