Now showing at the Ken Done Gallery in the Rocks 'Autumn Exhibition: Selected Works, 1990-2010'.
Autumn is a collection of paintings that exude cooler and more mellow feelings than one normally associates with the artist; a contrasting relief to the brash intensity of a long, hot summer. Included in this exhibition are works originally painted for a major exhibition in Japan in 1991 and rarely exhibited here. Along side these major pieces are paintings depicting Done’s favourite subjects; the beach, Sydney Harbour, the Cabin - all executed with a muted palette reflecting the change of seasons.
